cordless sdsd drills

need to replace my dewalt 24v sds (2nd in 2 years) has been ultra-unreliable, firsts was repaired under warrenty, then packed up just out of warrenty. so i brought the same again body only which has caused me loads of problems from that i have been repairing my self.
I dont think i want another dewalt again.
my mates bosh 24v has been having a few problems but does take some abuse and not really cared for.

what do you people use?

ive resulted in getting a bosh 240v & 110v for abusing, but a bit annoying setting up leads for the sake of a few 5.5mm holes!

i do need it to be able to drill the odd 25mm hole through walls and chase the odd back box in when no power is available!

Ohh and id idealy like to start replacing my batteries for li-ion

can handle anything

Bosch 36v used every day drilling holes in joists masony for outside lights does everything the corded equivalent does be lost without it

Got a bosch 36v but it's useless for drilling holes in joists. I use my makita 230v mains drill for everything. Nothing more annoying than having to change batteries.

What sort of drill bits you using are they sharp if not any drill will struggle to drill joists .I have the larger model of the 36v with the 2.6ah batteries its 3 yrs old now still going strong

The new Metabo stuff from Toolstop look very good, and everything has a 3 year warranty, not just the drill.

I like Bosch though personally.

I have the Bosch 36V LI-Ion drill, with the quick change chuck for occasional metalwork drilling (adds a twist chuck instead of the sds chuck).
It's a Animal, really is. ****es through breeze block walls like a hot knife through butter.

I use the irwin fast 4 bits. It's ok for the odd hole but if you've got a load to do i've burnt it out and it's had to have a rest! It's an awesome drill no doubt but for drilling 25mm holes in wood you can't beat a torquey 18v drill.

It's got a lot to do with the speed. It drills too fast
