Here is a not very good pic I took in my local hardware store a couple of days ago. This is one corner of the shop, and basically we have 3 layers of sliding shelves with storage bins. If you can't find the nut or bolt or washer or whatever you want, then it doesn't exist...

If you take a single or maybe 2 items to the till they just wave you goodbye. If you dump a handful on the scale they say €1?...
No Wagos though!

I could spend hours there - almost better than shoe shopping!!
 
We have a hardware store that used to be a Haberdashery, each drawer has the item inside screwed to the front, not purpose made like the above, but innovative just the same.

Man equivalent is tool shopping.
 
Back up in aviemore for the end of the holidays, and I had to take a photo of an electrical substation…. (To the horror of my wife and kids)

Just thinking of the headline if there was an accident……
