I've tried to get an answer to this but am struggling...
Customer is renovating house and he has removed the wall where the original meter and consumer unit were positioned. The whole lot including the main fuse is part lying / part suspended from the incoming supply (TT) and has been left hanging there!! Meter is still working and the supplier has even taken a meter reading with it like it!
Luckily it looks like it is not under any strain and has been like it for months, its well out of the way so there is no chance that it will be interfered with, anyway...I obviously took one look at it and said the supplier will have to reposition as its out of my remit so to speak, which he accepts and has booked the appointment with the DNO. Out of curiosity will he have to pay for a new meter? I assume they will fit a new smart meter, if he does have to pay any idea how much? And is there a cost if he can be upgraded to PME, as there are new houses being built nearby (house would have been semi rural when it was built) Thanks for your time.
