yea Alarm BUT if the councils operated localy (our HQ is miles away ) and had people visiting houses ect checking up on everyone then they may save money but as most stuff is done remotley there is loads of unseen stuff goes on Direct Debit reduces the need to go to office and pay rent im sure the money they would save if the fraud teams got out and chapped doors would pay their wage bill no problems
I think the point the tories are trying to make is that you can still achieve the same (or better) effect for less money - Labour seemed to manage to squander a load of money on actually making schools and the NHS WORSE, partly by throwing money we didn't have at every situation; the tories' seem to favour tackling the underlying issues instead.but that would mean employing more council workers,its not what the tories want,you would need to employ a private company to do that and pay way more..or teach people to be honest and take only what they need..not sure which is the cheapest option...
