Hi,

I have just been speaking to elecsa about a job they would want to look at for my assessment and they want a rewire or consumer unit change, which can be in a friends home, my mother has a 3036 board with mcb's so i can change that but the wiring for the lighting in the house is just twin, no cpc,

am i responsible for the lighting circuits when i change the DB or can it be a recommendation to get the circuits rewired?

Thanks.

spot on thanks for that.

basically change any class 1 fittings to class 2 and a sticker on the board, after tests show the circuit is fine

Cheers JUD.

My domestic installer registration with the NIC was exactly as this. Follow the best practice guide to the letter, and refer to it on your inspection as your source of 'best practice method'.

Make sure you remove all class 1 fittings. I accidentally left an outside light which I hadn't spotted which would have been an immediate fail. However the inspector was more than happy for me to try to replace it within my inspection slot, so I did. :o
