in 14 work days i will be officially listing my occupation as spoiling the grandchildren!
after 40 years of work (navy) and civilian job its time to relax and let the youngsters climb the poles
got a good bit sacked away in savings accounts so i'll have no worries.

Early retirement?good luck,I’ve got 4 years left retiring at 65,be glad to quit then,it’s so different out there,then it used to be,still running around,up in lofts,chopping out,age these days don’t mean a thing,happy retirement,enjoy,especially with the grandkids,it’s wonderful

Yes, well done and enjoy. I jumped out over a year ago (still do the odd job for beer vouchers).
The best bit is when people phone you up trying to sell you stuff, or they have a great phone upgrade deal, or conning you that they 'need an electrician in ---'. When you say you have now retired, they just go away.

I retired 2 years ago after 50 years in Electricity Supply Industry, enjoyed every minute of it, never dreaded going to work, but half century is enough! We have just been presented with first grandchild, so easing into that, but xyl has 3 horses and still works part time, so I am now an Equine Excrement Re-Location Operative. That's right, I shovel horse s***.
