Crampet or crumpet ?What are these cruampets? I have never come across them. How are they used?

:iagree:Pilot hole/Rawlplug, once you've drilled the hole, might as well use a saddle for a neater job.
Probably the oldest form of pipe fixing.
Very common on lead pipe.
Big hammer, and smack them in, then stand back and wish you'd used saddles.
Mainly used when conduit is concealed after.

1/ drill hole and Rawlplug into the brick
2/ place pipe against the wall or floor (standard use is to hold galv. conduit onto the floor before pouring the screed)
3/ hit into place using a lump hammer and a bolster
4/ I use them for something entirely different - holding oval conduit to the wall, but a little adjustment is required first

OMG! ...i know im getting old when someone asks when a young sparkie asks what a crampet is, are you telling me that a still used and available fixing method isn't even mentioned in college these days?
