Hi Guys

I've bought an Actaris ACE1000 credit meter as a sub-meter for a large bedsit.

The spec is 20-100 Amps.

My question is 'Does it need 20 Amps to work?' The technical brochure calls this value 'Basic current' and it can be 10, 15 or 20 Amps.

However the brochure shows a graph 'Typical Performance - Curve Error (%) against Load Current (Amps)' looking good from 1 Amp to 100 Amps.

As I'm meant to be installing this tomorrow morning, I'd appreciate an explanation.

Cheers

I would imagine it is only guaranteed to be accurate between the figures given (20 to 100 amps). Below that then the metering will probably be inaccurate. I wouldn't imagine (outside specialist gear) that any high current meter will be accurate when only an amp or so is passing through it.

Basic Current (Ib) is the current that the accuracy is checked at, and the starting current is a small percentage of Ib, fit Ib that is likely to be colosest to the average load. Also the starting current is a few percent of Ib
