crimping

hi prob a simple ans but was just wondering if wire crimping to extend them is ok for regs and safe etc or would i need to just just put a new full length of wire in. Its not getting done just wanted to know for future reference as i had a quick look thru my book and could not find nothing. I may have already been topic before but im on mobile so search not good as main anyway same goes for spelling my hands are biggwer than keys thank you in advance

Crimping is fine as long as the crimps are suitable for the cable being extended, the correct tool is used and used correctly, and precautions are taken to ensure insulation levels are kept.

Crimping is fine, but imo depends on the circumstance.

and dont forget to perform a `tug test` on all crimped connections will you...
just to verify they are secure...

what type of cable is being crimped ? does it need to be inside an enclosure ??

personally you cant beat the Wago connector

Same as wago but obviously opposite in and out connections

I don't see what's wrong with crimps...

Never bothered to buy a ratchet tool though, I just squeeze the crimp with pliers and wrap it in tape to stop it falling apart...

well i dont see whats wrong with a properly set crimp either...although i do use ratchet crimpers to do mine...
