Hi all. I have a customer who has spec cross railing on a barn roof. To get the required panels on I need to put them in landscape but this means the bottom rail will follow the purlins and then vertical rails for the panels.
Is this an acceptable method?
Anybody used it?

Neither do I but I've never cross rallied like that before so its with the question. I'm going to ring K2 later to confirm. Cheers mate.

best way to do it IMO, as it effectively strengthens the purlin slightly (note, slightly).

If it's a purlin roof and you are going landscape panels, why are you cross-railing?

Because the farmer has got it into his head that its the best method and won't shift on it. Believe me I think it's a waste of time and money but customer gets what he wants!!

Just a small point though, a cross railed system can perform slightly better as the air gap is larger under the panels allowing them to cool better in hot conditions.

Mounting Systems – Components Try these people, it is a cross railed insertion system, if installed correctly it makes installing the panels very quick, also great for landscape.

I hope this helps.
