Cscs v ecs

I have applied for many jobs requiring a CSCS card but i thought as an electrician it would be more beneficial to have an ECS card - which do you have if any and are they just a con or worth having one anyway whilst looking for a job?

The cscs is a general contractors safety card, your right to go for the ecs, as this is the electrical trades safety passport, you can do the assessment either through the JIB or through Unite the union. Most sites now require you to have this before being allowed on.

ecs every time. contact eca for local centre. it's £35 to take the test.

If you go through Unite, I think it costs about £17 if you are a member and about £25 if your not.
