Cu change today. Quick test on quote showed faults on upstairs lighting circuit would need remedial work. Customer agreed do the change and sort out fault on hourly rate so all ok.

So arrive today and poke head in loft which was really a sight to behold.

Cable all over the shop all light circuits cut and replaced with heaters and extractor fans which were extracting into the chimney breast.

There was what appeared to be the remains of some sort of exotic plant. The place was very well insulated.

so 2 hr cu change and 10 hrs of remedials. Ie rewire lighting circuit

Landlord paid gladly as just wanted it sorted. He did say the place had been rented to a foreign gentleman who claimed to be a botonist so I guess that explains it

Unless you know differently,

I'm guessing it's not the first time a spark has come across this

phew. when i read the title, i thought, here we go again. another Electrical Trainee made a cock-up of a CU change because he'd not allowed for faults. then read the post . nice one. an extra 10 hours of paid work. when you get access to the arms, mine's a pint of theakston's old peculier. LOL. :smoking:

what does arms mean? have seen this on some members

if you're a pro spark, either employed or self-employed, enter your details in the electricians in your area forum, pm a mod. the arms is a virtual pub. no DIYers or chancers allowed. not open to all.
