Folks,
I'm part way through a re-wire on a large 5-bed house.....added 2 new radials a few days back and this morning went to add them into MCBs on the RCD side. It's a large Hager CU with 12 MCBs and RCBOs in use at present. I cut out the 2 blanks and shifted the MCBs/RCBOs around only to then find that the neutral and MET bars only have enough screw holes for 12-ways.
Customer is unwilling to spend ÂŁ60+ on a larger bare Hager CU so I figure the choices are:
1. Leave 14 MCBs/RCBOs and double up on some of the neutrals and earth fastenings?
2. Pull a couple of circuits out and remove the MCBs/RCBOs and join the circuits as spurs/fused spurs outside of the CU?
Any views on the best course of action? Odd that Hager would provide physical room and DIN rail for 14 ways but not enough separate screw holes?
