When installing a replacement cu unit, i understand you are responsible for testing all circuits connected to that cu and making sure they are connected in such a way as they meet the regulations. But what i need advice on is what about circuits that dont meet regulations that were already there before the cu swop? Do you need to put them right? Inform the client that they will need putting right at some point? (Ie i dont need to put them right unless the clients agree's with the extra work? Or is it just the case that if my work meets the regs and test results are within limits and that i inform client of work that doesnt meets reg and needs putting right is the extent of my responsibilities?

(Think being a window cleaner would be a better career choice)

Hi Mickey
Depends on non compliance m8 ie bonding etc but most to be fair will be ok just make a note of non compliances on cert to cover yourself. Do a quick pir & ANY CODE 1,s etc will need sorting etc then if it helps put the findings on here for further advice.
Regards
Kung.
P.S. Dont do the window cleaning near me as i need the work lol.

A periodic should be done before you change the CU.Then inform the customer that if you have found any problems/faults,they need to be rectified before the CU is changed
