Quick heads up guys, we’ve got some good news.

You may have heard that the requirements to qualify as a domestic installer and sign off your own work may be changing in the New Year.

However we’ve just heard that the NICEIC are going to continue with the current requirements after the 1[SUP]st[/SUP] January 2012. The new qualification isn’t quite ready for launch yet and the framework has not been finalised to make the target date of 1[SUP]st[/SUP] Jan 2012 so it’s business as usual.

If you are in the process of training or are looking to train, you’ll now have extra time to complete your training and get registered on a competent scheme with NICEIC and other competent person’s schemes under the current route.

I've been told similar by Summitskills yesterday but they've not got any new release or anything. Do you maybe have a link or something similar please?

Many thanks.

Nothing official but we have it on good authority this is the case. The new draft EAS Specification is still to be published and this was expected over 1 month ago so there is no way they can hit the 1st of January deadline.

Thanks.

Why is it communication amongst these people is so pi$$ poor. It's so frustrating, especially with all this existing syllabus needing adjusting and splitting at this moment in time.
