Hi I was asked to check out a shower in a hair dressers which was tripping out the fuse. Soon found out it was a 9.5 kw shower protected by a 30a fuse. Problem solved. However decided to experiment with my new clamp meter an found when the shower was turned to the highest setting(power of water jets) and the highest temperature the reading was approx 39 amps. When I reduced the temperature this reading did not decrease as I thought it would. It only decreased when I changed the water jets power output to medium. (20a). Again when on the medium setting and I started to increase/ decrease the temp setting the reading on the clamp meter did not change from 20a. My question is why did the ampage not increase when the temp was increased but only increased when the power of the jet was increased- 20a med 39a high. Hope this makes sense. Cheers.

My view
Its a fixed load,it varies the temperatue by the volume of water flow
Turning down the temperature will increase the flow but the load remanis constant
The water jets may be an feature independant of the heating load
