Got a call a couple of weeks ago from a disabled friend, he’d bought a new cooker which I’d connected in for him. Anyway gets the phone call “all the rings have stopped working” so I popped around to see him. Took a quick look at the back of the cooked and every panel had the “warranty invalid if broken” stickers. Dave has a severe speech impediment so I made the phone call to Curry’s service centre, after about 10 minutes Dave’s passing me a tumbler of whisky I’m getting no where fast. Eventually I get through to someone that did seem to know what he was talking about (I’m about pi$$ed by this time). “Yes it will be the thermal fuse, we’ll post one out to you and an engineer will come to fit it on Tuesday”. So it’s sorry Dave but if I pull the cooker apart you’ve no guarantee. Anyway comes Tuesday and I call in to see the engineer as and when he decides to show up. By the time he does show up I’m pi$$ed again. He takes one look at the replacement part and came out with a showstopper, “that’s nice, I wonder what it is?” “I’ll go and get one out of the van!”
