I can't afford to hire an electrician to fit it at present, so D.I.Y job if possible.
It's only been purchased a few days ago, I had a metal 4 plate cooker top fitted beforehand and whoever wired it, it didn't seem to be very safe as the connector between the hob and the hard wire socket in the wall, it was melted at the negative terminal.
It has 3 earth wires linked to that connector, I'm unsure if it was the induction fan oven or the hob that's caused this to happen, maybe both as they were both connected at this link.
I have disconnected both hob and induction oven from the mains and everything is ready for fitting it, but I'm really wary about wiring it to the mains via the 3 wire hob mains cable, reason why I need to check with people who have good knowledge is that the connector that's melted, will I need to use another one of these, a new one, or are the 3 wire mains cable hardwired without this fitting?
I'll attach photos very soon.
