We do get some funnies from time to time:

Got a call-out this afternoon to go to a nightclub with a lighting failure. Halloween saturday = big party night = loadsamoney if they can't open.
Anyway, I couldn't get there for 3-4 hrs as was already on another job miles away, but they don't open until 10pm so we had some time to play with.

I get there, and the place is all lit up. Speak to a very sheepish manager who finally admits that they had a foam party last night and 'things might have got a bit wet'. So I take a cursory look around the place and can't see anything immediately wrong and figure that whatever it was causing the tripping has now dried out. Stand no chance whatsoever of doing any decent diagnostics (and know from experience that I'll find a million other things wrong anyway). Manager now doesn't want to have his boss find out that he's been a twit, therefore could we come to an 'informal' arrangement about the callout..... so my bill for that 5 min 'no work' callout was him buying my chinese from the place next door and a bottle of JD from the bar!! :dizzy2:

He can have his share, right after I've used it first.

That call out would have pulled me away from a day playing with my 6 month old son. What good would a Chinese and a bottle of JD (my personal fav) have done for him??

I'd have said no deal, and taken the foam machine instead for "further diagnostics".

I'm hoping to get a VIP ticket to the next one, just to be on hand if something goes off.
