Quick question to piggy back on this...im thinking of extending my place next year. Now as there will be new bedrooms, bigger kitchen new bathroom etc etc electrically would it have to conform to part m or is it possible to have the same heights as the old part of the house

yes it is fine. basically, heights should be similar to existing unless existing heights are stupid.

....fit the switches at the height you want them...not dwarfs, or children below the age of 6.

How long before things get moved even higher in basement rooms !

No...no. Safe isolation procedures were carried out and all conductors proved dead

Euro plug on end of kettle lead , quite common for a while.
(are they a chew-able size .. ) In my era flexes stayed attached!

This is why the regs had to change to make them lower down.

In the old days, when he/ her finishes the apprenticeship, in five years, they could reach that. But you don't grow much in 5 days.
