Quick question to piggy back on this...im thinking of extending my place next year. Now as there will be new bedrooms, bigger kitchen new bathroom etc etc electrically would it have to conform to part m or is it possible to have the same heights as the old part of the house
yes it is fine. basically, heights should be similar to existing unless existing heights are stupid.
 
This is why switches should be at 1450mm...obviously the IET people who made it 1200mm don’t have kids!

This is why the regs had to change to make them lower down.

In the old days, when he/ her finishes the apprenticeship, in five years, they could reach that. But you don't grow much in 5 days.
