Hi folks. I've just added in a new three metre section to a thirty metre installation of 230V Duralite two wire rope light. Using the splicing terminals, I cut the rope light at the prescribed marks and made the insert. The contacts look good and on switching on it all works except I now have two seperate dark sections of a metre each. They are isolated sections and have lit sections adjacent. One of the dark sections is from the newly inserted rope light yet two metres of the the new three metre section lights. I'm perplexed! Anyone have any experience of this product?

Replace it , no alternative we use s/loads in nightclubs best option is to go LED bit more pricey but worth it. In retrospect you should have put in a complete new length 40m about £15.00 with terms

The lamps are grouped in metre sets, and the loss of one lamp will stop the metre group from working in rope lights (even in LED ones apparently), thats why you have to cut them at the prescribed points.
replacing is your only option.
