Can anyone help with estimating a dates of original installations. It needs recording on the certificates but can't come up with a date. What are the signs to look for to estimate a date. Other than rubber cables and old wooden backed wylex boards.

If im not sure i use the > button,, say old wylex poss rubber cables then greater than say 40 years. pvc but still looking old then >30 its an estimate remember, make it up.. its a pointless question

It is only an Esitmate at the end of the day! I had a really good guide but can't find it at the moment, but here's a few things:
10MM bonding cables - 80's or later (could have just been added later though!)
No main bonding - pre 1966
Supplementary bonding in place - 1981 or later
No cpc in lighting circuit - pre 1966
Green earth sleeving - pre 1977
Fuse in the neutral conductor - pre 1955
Voltage operated earth leack circuit breakers pre 1981
None square pinned 13A socket outlets - 50's and before
Red/Black cable colours - pre 2006
Imperial Twin & Earth - pre 1970
