Daughter just got in from a hair consultation "Dad I really want some racoon hair extensions for the Prom" so just out of curiousity I ask how much is this going set me back. I nearly fell over when she told..........................."They are only £450 but they stay in for 3 months" :bomb2: Have advised her to go down the local market they are only £3.00. This prom lark is quickly emptying my pockets don't remember doing anything like this when I left school....

This was just kicking off when I left school a couple or so years ago - instead of a 'leavers' disco' in the school hall we decided to have a 'leavers' ball' (a disco in the school hall but we got dressed up). Dressing up was optional because the school didn't want anyone who couldn't afford to get dressed up to be excluded.

All seems to have gotten a bit out of hand now.

there was a TV prog about "proms" at 2 different scottish schools recently and one of the Gypsy series had a Prom ffs there was a case of a partent seeeking permision for a helicopter to newton mearns high school near glasgow ( rich list stay there)
