Does it matter what side the DC isolator is wired from?

We are just finishing our first job and our electrician has wired the dc cable from the PV array into the bottom of the isolator and the cables feeding the inverter from the top. It would look much neater the other way around. The electrician says that is how it needs to be wired. What reasons are there for not wiring the other way?

What ever floats your boat really - i do mine with Array into the top of iso - and DC to inverter coming out of the bottom of the iso, if it was outside i would do them both in and out of the bottom to prevent water ingress.
