Dedicated ring final used to serve heating panels ?

Afternoon, here's the proposed setup I am planning to supply 9 off 600w IR heating panels from a ring final circuit

the installation is commercial and the panels will be fitted to a suspended ceiling

a contractor and thermostat will control the heaters

the circuit is fed from a 32a rcbo

in the ceiling from the ring there is a fused connection unit 13a feeding and a 4 way hager click ceiling junction this then connects via the click system to 3 heaters (separate click connections) via 1.5 heat resisting flex

as there are 9 heaters 3 in each row this is repeated 3 times so from the ring there is a fused connection unit feeding each click box the ring legs will be equal due to the positioning of each click unit in relation to the consumer unit

the cables are clipped direct standard 2.5 twin and earth

anyone see any issues as it's slightly off a standard arrangement ?

The hager klik system is designed to control lighting,I would suggest you contact the manufacturer for approval to use the system for heating or use something else. As they are luminaire supporting couplers 559.6.1.4 prohibits their use for any other purpose.

I'm curious as to what advantage this arrangement has over a more tradition setup?

Just read it thanks for that obvious now incase someone clicks a luminaire to it I suppose, I'll do it using standard plug and socket arrangement I'm looking and modifying a redundant circuit that's the reason I'm contemplating it

Why use an rcbo when the cable is running above a cieling , ,do the ceiling heater not have high and low setting . Just check the reg on ring final circuits at the back of the byb i sure that it says that ring final circuit should not run for long periods of time on a high load or somthing along those lines but with your set up of about 25amp you may be ok

Why not split the ring into two radials and have a chance of not losing the whole lot if one heater takes the mcb out?

Looking at the regs, the green book, not the yellow - means I have to walk out to the van to get it, the current carrying capacity is 27A, your rcbo is 32A.

this means your exceeding the rating of the cable before the rcbo trips. follow 'flanders' advice you need to rate this circuit around 25Amps.

What i'd be inclined to do would be to mod the rfc into 2 radials, each @ 20A, feeding 3 heaters each. Then bung in a 3rd radial for the last 3. that would break it down better. ( That's if you can't split the existing into 3 ).

Wtf? Ring finals have been fused at 32A for many many years without an issue, what new change in the rules do you think has de-rated the arrangement to 27A?
