Definition of a 'Wiring System'?

Currently working my way through unit 305 and a question refers to types of wiring system...

Does this refer to the actual types of cables that I will use in the installation or does it refer to something else?

BS7671 has a chapter 2 definition of wiring system which may be useful.
Generally it is the type of cable and containment that is under consideration.
