Stroma Certification Scheme Delay joining Stroma

Anyone else had a delay joining Stroma. 5 weeks since my assessment ( passed) and nothing back from Stroma.
On contacting them I get fobbed off with “ there is a backlog “ story.

That isn't good at all. I left stroma as they were so disorganised, and they clearly haven't improved since.

They are probably signing up more members than any other scheme at the moment, my advice Keep Calm and carry on, just notify jobs once you get the thumbs up, no real issue IMHO.

That’s a long time, people can become a fully fledged spark in that amount of time

Over here in the iom electricians don’t need to be a member of a scheme to be on the part p list of approved contractors..
Instead they can opt for the govt assessment scheme, 1 off fee which lasts a few years till next assessment..
Is this also the case in the uk or do you have to be a member of a scheme?
I’m currently with Napit, but rethinking it now.

I've been with Stroma for 5 years. They always take ages to give you confirmation of your pass. It doesn't bother me anymore as you know they will in the end. I asked them if I could keep notifying whilst awaiting confirmation of the pass and they were absolutely fine with that.

I think the cost of the assessment is approx £200 but I’m not sure of that figure..

It is only for local sparks though..
I work all over the uk and abroad so wouldn’t be any good for me and also no good for commercial jobs where they request scheme members only
