Please remined me. In the EIC the extent of the installation is clear. How does this differ from the Description of the installation. Shoud the description be a detailed list of what has been done (which would duplicate the "Extent"), or is it a general description like "Domestic" "Commercial" etc?

They could be the same, they could be different, if you are using the EIC for alterations or addition, the the description would be the whole installation and the extent limited to the work you did.

Example London colllege description commerical

Extent; - This certificate relates to Installed new circuit to feed dishwasher in kitchen from DB35 CCT 10 only

I'm beginning to think the Description should just be a short heading somthing like:
Provide sockets and lights to new extension
or
New circuit for milling machine.

No sparks I believe socket ect or new circuit should be written in extent, type of installation in the description (this is important so you can provide the next test date etc).

Have to concur with Zupos on this one Sparks - the description section is for the `type`of installation, whereas the extent is the real description of the work undertaken.

Hope it helps ya
