I'm in the third year of my 2330. I'm often quite bored, so I'm looking for a little project.

I'm wanting to create a mock design project, to cover everything that I've covered so far on the course. My idea is to have a factory/shop/office building.

I'm asking you, the members of this forum, to stipulate machines, equipment etc that need to be inside this building. I'm looking to cover everything - grouping factors, voltage drop, power factor (so plenty of inductive loads, please), conduit systems, etc.

We'll say the building is 100m square. At the front of the building, is an office, 10m². This office houses 15 people, and is the admin centre for the entire company (the company has 2 sites;)), ethernet network etc to be included. Next to this is a shop which sells whatever this company makes. It's 10*20m, and requires all the usual stuff - lighting, power etc.

Finally is the bit I'm asking for the most help with - the 'workshop'. It takes up the rest of the building. I don't really care what this place makes, but it has to load the stuff onto lorries (forklift charging points, roller doors), and preferably have a vast arrary of machinery in it. Single-phase and three-phase. I need suggestions (I'll use every suggestion) on what these machines are, and how much current they draw. I would create my own, but that's too easy and I'd be tempted to stick to simple things to make it easier for myself, which is what I don't want.

Any input greatly appreciated.:)

Thanks.

Have fun if you really want a project have a go at 2391-20 design and verification

Thanks.

Just found out that my college are running a 2391 (10) course in April, so I'm going to try and get my 2382 (I've found a different college who will accept me exam-only as an external candidate). The 20 course will be the next step from there for me, so hopefully a bit of practice now will stand me in good stead for it.

Thanks again, and keep the suggestions coming!
