design project

currently doing my 2391-20 design course and was wondering if anyone else was having trouble with there circuit lengths to meet vd? is anyone sitting there exam on the 6th december? if so when have you been told that your project is due?

The project is upto you to complete in your own time. I'm sitting the exam on 6 December too. Haven't properly looked at the project yet. Ive got the fire station. What about you?

Same here, I haven't started the project yet. Not even checked the spec out.
I've received the exam already, it's locked away till the 6th.

I'm doing a thermography course as well on the same day, my heads gonna hurt.

How did you all find the course? i found it very easy going, and i was actually a little disapointed. it only covers 2330 lvel 3 theory. it doesnt tell us anything about adjustinmg volt drop for power factor or anything like that. My feeling is that without further study,this course only gives you the tools to design very simple installations.

obviously i might still fail, but im hoping that i wont.

Well it's replacement has been upped to Level 4, so lets hope more theoretical input has been introduced.

i heard that it was gona remain the same course, but just the QCA level upgraded.

I may take the new one also, if i hear on here that its a more advanced course.
everybody on my course had a HNC, apart from me, and that also shocked me, as i thought that part of the hnc was electrical design.
One of the blokes mentioned that there is a B-tech in LV design that is suppsed to be good, and only half the price.

Our tutor at my college has been on at us to get the project done before Xmas! This I think is so he never has to see us again after our exam! Totally wrong imoa due to the price of the course and what is actually taught as johnboy6083 rightly says!

Not sure your tutor can do that to be honest as the C&G designate the time frame. Long time since I did mine so my memory may be tricking me, or they may have changed the criteria, but I think you had a least a year if not longer to finish the project

No I didn't think he could cheers malcolm! I questioned this course on my first evening doing it and asked about it being upgraded to a level4! College reckon they know nothing about it changing! So basically i do exam in december, get result in say march for a level 3 course which would then be running as a level 4 course? Rubbish!!! Does any1 have some good notes, key formulas to know, past papers ect..?
