Can anyone tell me what i should put in the Designation of Consumer Unit(s) box on a schedule of test results forms pls.
Sorry if I'm missing a simple, obvious answer.

Thanks

There is a seperate box for the location of consumer unit(s).

A box for PFC at Consumer unit(s)

And Designation of Consumer Unit(s). Do i fill in the location and designation boxes the same?
Thanks for your help

For multiple boards in property, DB1, DB2 etc. If tere is only one then either put in the location or if there is a different box for that leave it blank.

Is designation of board not ADS or similar. I hope so cause thats what I always put!!

ADS (automatic disconnection of supply) comes under "Protective measures for fault protection"

As I said earlier, a designation is the number assigned to a CU or DB if there is more than one.

If there's only one CU and it's not already labelled, print a label marked "DB1" and stick it on (or write directly, not so tidy). Then write "DB1" in the designation box.

The reason it's there is so that there's no doubt about which box you're referring to. If multiple boxes on the premises, carry on labelling "DB2", "DB3", etc, or whatever your preferred labelling scheme is.

On larger systems, I have used, for example, "DB1.3" for a DB supplied from CB3 on DB1, but maybe that's over-complicating things! (Does make it easy to see where something is supplied from though.)
