"Hello All",

I hope that I am not breaking any Forum rules with this - as Habitat send out Emails to probably Thousands of Customers this is `in the Public domain`.

I receive Emails about Habitat products as I have previously purchased Furniture etc. from them.

Today I saw this `Designer Light Fitting` in an Email.

I am NOT criticising Habitat or the product in any way as I am a Customer of theirs and they have some Good stuff.

But what do You think of this - only £120.00 - WITHOUT THE BULBS / `LAMPS` - FLEX Wood 5 drop pendant light - Our favourites- HabitatUK HABITAT 5 DROP PENDANT LIGHT - PICTURE Capture.JPG:

Chris

So Chris would you buy it?

"Hello Dipzy",

No I would not buy it - I have enough 235 Volt `Light leads` from Years gone by to make up something like that IF I ever wanted to.

I cannot imagine anyone that I have ever either met or done Work for who would want this installed in their Homes.

I wish that I could find out from Habitat how many of these are sold - obviously I will never be able to.

Regards,

Chris

Hahahaha, do you have any twisted core leads?

"Hello again Dipzy",

Some of my old Light leads have probably got VERY Twisted cores from being coiled up hundreds of times !

Although as I am writing on here I should state that I would have looked after my Light leads and have inspected them before every use for any damage to the insulation / outer covering / plug and Bulb holder / shield etc.

Regards,

Chris

That looks more like the the builders tangled mess left after his string lights have been used for a few years

In all seriousness, that is designer statement gone nuts

Mind you it could very well sell has a item for a modern art gallery
Bearing in mind, that would be about the only place where such trashy looking junk would have its admirers

some wood and random lights stripped out of property when you starting a rewire will look equally good. maybe with some vintage value added.

I thought I'd seen it all....but obviously not. Maybe this is some kinda joke?

"Hello Marvo",

I would have thought that this was a Joke if this was from a Company that I don`t know - but it is from Habitat a well respected Furniture and Homeware Company that has been trading for at least 40 + Years - and that I have been a Customer of a few times over the last 25 Years.

This IS a `legitimate` product from them !

Regards,

Chris

You're just jealous because YOU didn't think of it!!

It's a damn' sight easier and cheaper than faffing about soldering bits of copper tube together to make a lamp!!
