chaps, any body with a Di Log 9083P (i know you have rocker) endured problems with Continuity readings!!

scenario!!

connect leads (check)
switch dial to Continuity (check)
check leads .......... nothing!!!

i get a reading of 200 when the leads are seperated but when i connect them together my screen goes blank and i get a little M apear next to the OHMS sign!! :( but i get no reading...! ive tried nulling the leads but it does not respond..!!

i really dont need this at the minute as i have been looking at getting a megger MFT tester but needed a reason.. now looks like i have got one!..

by the way all other functions work ok and the leads are working!! just seems my continuity function dont! :(

Christ knows! Mine is currently (still) in repair, I'd recommend giving DiLog a ring, they are pretty hepful but they do tend to take for-bloody-ever with it. I'd recommend asking the girl on the end of the wire to ask 'her engineer' if he can diagnose over the phone, cos if he can't fix it it's going to go to the factory which is three weeks plus. You may want to look into whether anyone local can fix it for a price but quickly - kinda wishing I had gone down that route now :(

no luck its dead..!!! oh well give di-log a ring then on tuesday! :(

that MFT Megger is looking really nice now! oh yeah just relised im also out of warranty! :(

Christ you didn't get it with a 12 month warranty, did you? You poor sod.

If you do go for the megger but get a price for it on repair let me know I may consider giving you a few quid for it.... been thinking about starting a cheap meter rental scheme since I've been in a position of not being able to work, and not being able to justify rental charges.....

da dar!!!

its working!!!! god knows what i did... must have been the talk of getting a megger! gave it a quick whirl on a known circuit and no probs!!

my di log came from a nice polish chap who was going home, i had 12m of a 24m warranty left and tbh he used it only handful of times, even got the free volt meter wrapped up still..!!

maybe it stopped working due the the fact a job i was on was taking me ages to complete and i wanted out of there!! TYPICAL..!
