Hi all

I dont want to annoy any electricians but was just wondering what is the difference between being a Qualified electrician and being Part P registered ?

apart from the fact Part p can only do domestic work ?

thanks

Jack

ok

As i said part P is to comply with building regs, its a course that electricians can take, plumber, kitchen fitters, tilers. It will not make you an electrician only that your work should comply to part p

There is no difference between Part P and a qualified spark.Part P allows you to sign off your own work in a domestic property.I did some work with a spark who was Part P registered but still did industrial and commercial work with him.Take a look at the link.An electrician that isn't Part P can still do work in a domestic property but needs to inform LABC.
