Hi all
Ive been asked to run the coax in for a tv system ?
they want to be able to have sky+ and/or digi tv at all the outlet points (lounge kit 3 beds)
I was thinking of running 2 x coaxes + 1 x 2pr BT
one coax will be combined in the loft with sky and digi and then split using a diplexed outlet plate, the other coax will be for sky+ or R2 OUT from the main sky box in the lounge , the 2pr to connect to the sky box.
any thoughts on if it will work , is it a good way to do it or is there a better way to do it ???
thanks for any replies
john

HI You can buy a loft box which you can feed sky back into the loft with the tv and then run it to 4 rooms , If the caox is the top spec you can run sky and tv down it , The lads in the busness only get about 3/4 hour to do the job thats why they run a new cable in ( time is money as they say)

it all depends if they want sky+ in every room, this would require them to take out multiroom subscription if they want to watch different channels, sky+ as you say requires 2 coax to the box, i think additional boxes with multiroom have to be connected to the dish and bt line and depending how many boxes you require etc may require a dish upgrade, the standard dish has four ports on it, a sky+ uses two per box

found a few websites dont know if any help

If you are looking to have the main box in the lounge and then be able to watch the same sky channel elsewhere in the house then wire as follows.

Install the 2 co ax cables for the sky plus box from dish to lounge, also install your cable for terestrial TV.
Then install a single Co ax cable back from the lounge to the loft or where ever else you want to put an amplifier.
from that point install a single cable to all your other televisions.
make sure if you are installing a mouse remote controller that the amplifier must have a digital bypass or else it wont work as the signal gets blocked.
