Hi Ladies and Gents, wanted to ask you all has anyone got any experience of the DiLog 9083P tester they want to share? Would love the Megger 1552 but funds tight to start with.
Also, guy I help out now and again says its ok to go through a wall for ease of access to feed a socket in a room that has other sockets fed from a different breaker. I think this leads to safety problems if someone assumed one dead all dead in the same room (I know they should safe isolate but humour me). Can't find any regs I can hit him with can anyone help? Love our tech arguments over a cuppa. Thing is he's been doing house bashing for 30 years and he's usually right. Doh...
Cheers all safe chasin'

dunno about the diLog, not used one. megger 1552 so easy to use. foolproof. some new ones on ebay, cal. cert. & 3 year warranty. also, some of the calibration guys sell recond. units

I use a Dilog 9083 purely as I learnt using one so didnt see the point of starting again once I had finished training with it. I find it very easy to use and maintain. Its just had its first year calibration and readings were no different from the day I bought it. I cant comment on other testers as I have never used them and as long as my 9083 doesnt pack up I wont need to.

suppose we all have our individual preferences. just for the hell of it, i use an analogue insulation tester, purchased 2nd hand in 1972 for the princely sum of ÂŁ2 ( that then would have bought 8 pints at the local ) for basic fault finding. if i drop it or lose it, it don't matter. Hasten to add that it's only used for initial checking. But it has identified a lot of leakage faults! For serious work it's Megger 1552
