I have posted on this topic a good few months ago and have covered things like the loading of the bulbs (40watt x 4 bulbs) compared to the capacity of the switch which soemthing like 400 watts. I have also bough a better quality dimmer a Click Deco and have already had to get a replacement unit for the switch. This light fitting has been in place and in use for at least 4 years with no problems but now over the last 8 months or so I have had to replace the dimmer on 4 occassions as bulbs keep blowing and in turn this is frying the dimmer resulting in the high setting only being available.

What I am trying to find out is why should this happen now if it has been OK for a number of years and is there something that can be done to prevent it from happening. It seems like some sort of surge keeps happening to blow the bulbs. Is it the bulbs themselves that is causing the problem. I have got Power Tech Rough Service Candle Bulbs fitted.

Any ideas as it is costing a fortune in dimmers switches?
