dimmer switches no longer work !

hello all
can you help please last week bulbs blew then tripped at consumer box reset
since then my dimmer switches no longer work
1 in dinning room and 1 in living room ?
they blew on separate days
one i have had for around 5 years the other 1 year

It took some finding mate .......................but be honest it is a thing of beauty especially after about a summer full of flies wanted to get a closer look inside it ..................ahhhhh happy days

generally find them at car boots, usually with bits missing.

hello all
only now got around to check these dimmer switches one tells me nothing the other has this 60-250w
i have 3 x 60 w bulbs in the light fitting = 180
is the dimmer unit in side the switch replaceable ?
if they are what are they called can i buy them from screw fix

Buy a cheap plastic plate dimmer, pull the knob off, undo the nut and the dimmer will part from the front plate, then it will become obvious what you have to do with the existing chrome one. If it's not obvious the I'd suggest getting an electrician in to fix/change them.

i`m able to do that but what rating should i go for as the 250 watt should of be OK
i shall see if they do a 300 w or 400 w
