I have to go to a job on saturday and wire in a dimplex AC45N heater in a new premises. The client removed it from his old premises and has now mounted it above his door and wants me to wire it in. Now as its 4500w I'm going to put it on its own dedicated 20a mcb.
Now he had it wired to 3 mk 20a grid switches before, with the first turning the power on, the second half heat and the third full heat, and he wants it re-wired the same way. The heater currently has a 5 core flex on it. I've never come across this before, as I thought you could just switch it on the actual unit, but this is what he wants.
Do i just wire the neutral and earth as normal and the other 3 cores are switch lines? Is it not just L/N/E at the unit, I didn't have a chance to examine it properly today as I was in a rush.
Any help would be greatly appreciated
Cheers
