My parents have got storage rads and a few don't work properly, despite the knob being on the lowest setting they pump out maximum heat. What is the part that has failed and where can I get them from?
Would it be cost effective to replace all of the rads as they are really old? I'm not sure if the newer ones are more efficient than the older models.

If the heaters are emitting high levels of heat then it sounds like the outlet plate has stuck open or the insulation on the heaters has broken down badly.

If the heaters continue to output heat during the whole day then they are being powered during the day (there is sometimes a boost power switch that can operate the heaters in the day).

Parts for such heaters can normally be obtained from website such as spares4U, spares2you, buyspares, Espares etc.
