Hey all, just been called round to elderly customers house today as their storage heater fitted approx 18 months ago was not cutting in on Economy 7 and it's getting chilly !
stripped down and found that the safety cut out on the input control knob is tripped. I looked at it and it seems that you can't reset this type as it's the new version as older style is obsolete but someone has told me that near the terminal block where the steel tag sticks up that's where you can reset the thermal cut out instead of replacing it all which is about ÂŁ28.

Part is XT9605
I don't want to charge the old couple for a part if it can be reset as there were a few items sat on top of heater and they know not to cover them ! Also lot of cat hair inside the top !

All elements and terminals tested and checked for tightness. Dies work fine if cut out bypassed. But not left operational until I check on this. Any knowledge from you members much appreciated.

Thanks chaps, sorry for my ignorance just wanted to check ! Not done them before and rather not rip elderly folks off replacing parts not needed. Need their heater as his wife just broke her back in a fall and comes back home this evening. Poor people. Cheers again
