Disabled toilet alarm.

Posting this in here as I cant access the alarms forum.
Was asked to take a quick look at a disabled toilet alarm while on another job today which works fine other than the amber fault light showing continually.In the end I didnt get time to have a butchers,that'll be tomorrow,but as it all works ok is it likely that the on board battery is down causing the fault light?.....There were no makers markings on the thing but a quick search online and it looks the same as this one...(RGL)

TBH The units are very badly made imo......the whole system works on a 2 wire loading. and the 9v rechargeable battery or built on 6v nicad, course endless fault problems.
Have found a direct replacement by Timeguard more reliable and better made.
