I fitted an Ener-J wireless receiver and switch from CEF.
During course of afternoon one light fitting kept turning on and off unexpectedly but it took a while to realise it wasn't the customer doing it.
I noticed a van next door and thought it's got to be worth asking, so I went and found there was a sparks next door who sure enough was fitting wireless switch gear - though in his case it was the Kinetic range from Toolstation.
He'd managed to press one of his switches exactly as I was pairing mine, and thinking back the first pairing attempt did seem to fail.

So it seems that Ener-J and the unbranded stuff from Toolstation are compatible enough to work each other's receivers..
When I got home, out of interest I tried a Quinetic switch with an Ener-J receiver, and that doesn't work.

That was an very good piece of detective work Tim. You would never really consider it, as its so, so unlikely. It will have saved you a lot of hassle!

It was certainly a long shot that for once paired off. I'd been thinking it was a faulty receiver or a poor connection.

Quinetic are still the best, none of the others have room to link a CPC within the cover, so all of the others need an extra enclosure really.

Wow I had done the same with a Samsung remote walking near a block houses.
Switching it off while corries on and eastenders, can you imagine it, bloody hell the tvs off.
i turned off the TV amplifier for a block of flats during Eastenders once. Flipping heck….4 burly blokes bearing down on me effing and blinding! A quick way to get acquainted with the inmates.
