It's been proven that the bowls of nuts on the bar in pubs are crawling in bacteria..................uke:

My mate worked for a brewery and they analysed a sample of nuts from the bar in one pub and found traces of 18 different urine types,never eaten free snacks of a pub bar since,and i,m a bit wary of buffets at functions.
