Hello all
Would someone please cross check my calculations?
Cooker induction HOB ONLY, oven is on a separate wall with seperate 6mm cable.
4x elements
1400, 1800, 1400, 1800=6400w total.
6400w / 240v=27A
27A-10A=17A
30% of 17A=5.1A
5.1A + 10A = 15.1A plus 5A socket =20.1 A total
Note the hob has a rating of '4600w' from the manufacturer, so if this was used (without diversity) 4600/ 240=19.2A, plus 5A socket= 24.2A.
Using both the above I have confirmed the existing 6mm cable and 32A MCB will be fine.
The 6mm cable is around 16m long, in a bundle with all other cables from the consumer unit in the garage to the house then splits off to run with a couple of other cables for around half its length with no heating/ insulation concerns. Trunking for the final 1.5m down the wall.
Hope you agree!
Many thanks
