Got a few calcs here and would like anyone's opinion on the sypnosis here.I have got a small potery on a single phase supplyAt present there is a ring final circuit in there rated 32amp and 6 fluorescents in there 70watts each totalling 1.8 amps. That takes us to 33.8 maximum demandThey are after having 5 kilns all rated between 3kw - 6kw, all to be wired in swa, 3 of themClipped direct, 2 will be on tray. The only correction factor I have is the 0.94 for the temperature at 35degCompleted all my calcs for cable sizes and the adiabatic equation for my earthing conductor. The only issue is I have a new maximum demand of 139.1amps, so obv needs a three phase supply putting in. Instead I decided on a diversity, I took it simple and just applied a 50% diversity to the kilns to be installed, this is because I "as stated in osg" have used special knowledge and believe that at anyone given time at a maximum the kilns will be drawing no more than 50% of there combined ratings as its unlikely all will be getting used at the same time and that they more than likely nor going to be on the highest settings etc. By doing this it's has brought the new maximumDemand down to 86amps so that's leaving 14amps to keep within single phase supply. This also I have not taken any diversity on the ring final and I believe that also will not draw the full 32amp maximum demand but the lighting I do believe will draw its full demand due to the size of the place and the positioning of the.Basically that's all I can say in my sypnosis, anyone got any info I could chip in?CheersPhil
