Hi

I just replaced my folks outdoor floodlight but now worried I have done it wrong it is working but wanted to check.

it has a junction box all seemed easy however when doing it I spotted cable had 4 wires…the black one wasn’t used before so I just ignore it..now worrying I have done something wrong.

Wired yellow/green, brown and blue like normal

TL;DR
Amateur wiring help please
What colour were the wires coming from the house, if what you described sounds like a 4 core flex ( and what is on the fitting)

Did the fitting come pre flexed?

Can we have a photo of the joint you made?

If you changed the light as it was previously connected, you shouldn’t have gone far wrong.
