im wanting to make my TV/TVunit look like its floating, im hoping to just buy a few brackets, say 5, then sit the unit and TV on top if that makes sense. Below is a link to the brackets.

Heavy Duty Brackets Black 500 x 300mm Pack of 2 | Shelving Brackets | Screwfix.com

it has the sky box, my xbox, and dvd player in the unit to add to weight. The TV its self is 50" so its heavy.

Below is a photo of it, not mine its a one i found on the internet.

Im just wondering if anybody sees a problem with what im wanting to do? Thanks

Wouldn't it be a good idea to find out how much weight these brackets can take. You should ask the question on the site. Then weigh the items you want to put on the brackets. If this weight is less than the 5 bracket max weights then things are looking good.
Depending on the total weight of your items you might want to consider what wall you are fitting these too and what fixings you are going to use.

Is it RCD protected.... :)

note that those brackets got only 2 points fixing each. unless you drill some more. you will need some solid system to attach it to the wall.
some of that will do the job for brick or block.
Sleeve Anchor M10 x 97mm - Toolstation
if is wood with plasterboard then find wheres the wood behind , position brackets in there and fix with some big wood screws.
it may work better with this kind of shelving
RB UK Twin Slot Uprights White 1400 x 25mm Pack of 2 | Wall Shelves | Screwfix.com
RB UK U-Brackets White 270 x 13mm Pack of 10 | Wall Shelves | Screwfix.com
have couple of shelves instead of one fully loaded, more room for your kit and you can spread the weight.
toolstation stocks them too, also in black.

When you take the base of the TV it won't be that heavy so you can fix it to any wall with the right type off fixing and there is lots of floating shelf's that you can get,

Spoon: No it isnt, do you think i should?? ;) .. Yeah thats actually a good idea thanks, its not a partitioned wall its brick/concrete between houses so the wall wont be a problem, as for fixings i will more than likely use sleeve anchors or try and find a better option through google

Handysparks - circa 0.5m - Brick

Amlu - I will be using them anchors or similar yeah as its Brick, I dont think the shelves would work as they arent long enough mate

newtothis - I could yeah but the unit has a pole on top for the cables and the tele is mounted to that, if i took the tele off it wouldnt look too great, il get some pics tonight for a better understanding.

egg67 - ive had a look at them mate i dont think they will be strong enough.

Thank you all for your advice and responses!

Fit the tv to the wall with a TVs wall bracket, then fit the unit to the wall it will be a lot lighter and if it does fall of wall at least the tv will be safe

sorry its late, but thats why i cant just put it on the wall, the long pole will look out of place, and if i took it off then there would be a hole, so im hoping the method ive chose to do it is the right one

Fix TVs to wall with a proper tv bracket at the height you want it, then fit unit to wall with brackets cut pipe brown so it fits between tv and unit, or get a longer pipe and some flat brackets drill hole through bottom of unit and use it as a support leg at the back, use U bolts to fix to wall

Which one you going for? Might be able to help you get the bits you need

Fit the TV to the wall, then the unit underneath, I might have an idea if the pipe comes out, i could just put some sort of ornament to cover it, daft candle (obviously dont light it) or something to cover the hole. It would save cutting it.

Use a hole cover cap you can get them from the sheds, will look better than a daft candle and you don't have to dust it
