Hey guys....

first time here so be easy with me.

I am looking to do my first job for my MCS and want to do it on my own house I wanted to go up to the full 4kw and I understand that as this is over 3.6kw you have to inform your DNO before hand and get them to say its ok (correct me if I am wrong) I live in richmond in london and I believe the DNO is e-on atleast acodring to the national grid website but I dont seem to have much luck in finding who I need to speak to, if I have made a mistake somewhere or if you can point me in the right direction I Would apreachate it.

Thanks

William

Hi,

As long as you use an inverter that is capped at 16A then you will be ok, anything over 16A then you need to be talking to the DNO, Fronius 3.6 is a good inverter, if you have shading issues the Power One 3.6 with duel MPP is also good and capped at 16.

Thanks Dansk,

do you know where I can get the information on the off chance future jobs are over 16A ?

I was thinking about using a Kostal Piko 3600, I am doing the first job on my own house I do have some shading first thing in the morning from a tree in the garden although I will cut that down in a year or so. I was planning on using suntech 250's as the company near me are selling them from pretty cheap. max output on the kostal is 15.7A so that will be fine.

The input is :

Max. input current 9 A
Max. input current with parallel connection 13 A

I assume the 9A is per string ?

Thanks

William

This is my DNO and they have helpful downloads for you to read - will be mainly the same for all DNO's i guess For Generation Customers

Yes as the maximum input is 18A

Incidently im installing my first Piko 3.6 tomorrow, rumour has it their good
