Hi,

I'm in the process of starting up as a sole trader & just purchased my multimeter etc and am currently practicing with it in my own home and with any small jobs for family. I've gained qualifications so am confident with testing and completing Minor Works certs, however I'm not 100% clear if I can simply purchase the certificates and give them out or do I need to be registered somehow to use them? (with Niceic for example).

The practice copies i've been using are from my mentor who is NICIEC registered so the certificates have tracking numbers on. I'm eager to begin working outside of my friends and family so your help will be appreciated.

Many thanks!

You don't have to be registered with a scheme to fill in and give the customer a cert. Of course if the work is notifiable one cert is handed to the lba.

the min required is the certs in bs7671 but the part p for LABC is something else you can go direct to them and pay a one sum (about 130... really) or sign up with a scam provider (about 500) and youll pay about ÂŁ2 per job, if you have to notify.hmmm wonder why cowboys dont bother...
